PERSONALITY & MOTIVATION
David is a basically good guy who has been worn down by the system and a failed marriage. He has a dark and angry core of cynicism and fatalism. After years of dealing with the detritus of crime scenese he has a terrible dislike of criminals, particularly the sort that seem to evade justice. He is also partially motivated by boredom; compared to sitting around in his crappy little apartment watching basic cable tracking and killing drug runners is pretty entertaining stuff.

It is yet to be seen what the things motivation is (if any).

POWERS & SPECIAL EFFECTS
Sect is basically a light brick with some interesting powers available via some strange symbiotic organism. Unfortunately, Sect is a lethal character in a kind of 4-color setting. To date he has not faced another superhuman and thugs cant really hurt him, so his tactics have thus far been leap in and kick butt. Further experience may see greater development of this area.

ORIGIN
David Bohn is a 32 year old respected Forensics tech that works for the Millenium City Police department. He has been divorced for 7 years and his ex-wife Rachel has custody of their daughter Gloria. He lives alone in a small crappy apartment downtown; his income is crippled by child support payments, which has even caused him to sell his car and walk to work. He left Princeton to marry Rachel after she got pregnant with Gloria, and didnt have the opportunity to complete his degree. His knowledge of forensics is very impressive, but without a degree he was unable to fulfill his life long dream of working for the FBI Crime Labs. His hair is thinning and his shoulders, once broad and powerful from his days as a Rower at Princeton, are starting to sag with the weight of an unhappy middle age. Outwardly he looks like just another fading former jock locked into an unsatisfying career and moving nowhere but towards his peak. His burning drive to catch criminals has been worn down to a cynical certainty that many of the worst criminals always get away with it even when caught red handed. If the glove dont fit, indeed.
However, 6 months ago a strange artifact crossed David's path and changed his life irrevocably. Some whack job cult of fanatics were convinced that some alien race had come (back) to Earth to elevate all mankind brave enough to join them to live among the stars, and that to take this journey with the alleged alien race they must drink poisoned Kool-Aid and leave their mortal shells behind. They did this, and some of the evidence crossed David's desk for categorization and analysis. Late that night, working after everyone else was gone because he had nothing better to do in his little appartment, David cleared through the mundane detritus of the cult and pulled this strange triangular medallion thingy out of the evidence box. The item was captivating in its design and had strange runes or glyphs etched into it. At the center of the triangle on what appeared to be the front was a semi-hemispherical bulge with a seam running through it. Intrigued, David pried at it with his tools and finally managed to get the seam to part. That is when his life was changed forever; from the enclosure revealed by his tinkering a hideous greenish black amorphous lump oozed out and injected itself beneath David's skin. The thing oozed from Davids hand inch by painful inch to the center of his chest where it remains to this day. This caused David to go into a horrified shock, and the adrenaline rushing through his body caused a reaction with the thing in his chest. Suddenly a thin hard film oozed from the lump in his chest to cover every inch of David's body, and then hardened into an exoskeleton of sharp spines and edged plates. Calming down, David made his way to a mirror and was horrified by what he saw; taring back at him from the mirror was some hideous alien-bug-thing, with spikes and edges everywhere, ugly bulbous eyes, and some kind of complex mandible system. The shock of it was too much for him and he recovered his senses some hours later at the docks, with a trail of devastation behind him. In his disoriented state the thing had trashed David's offices and then fought through the downtown police station, seriously injuring several officers. David was able to escape suspicion because luckily for him he had stepped out for dinner earlier that night and was on archived video as having left the building. His return was filmed on the next tape which was still in the recorder and wiped out during the bug-things rampage through the station, and noone had seen him come back in.
Since that time the bug thing has been wanted by the Police, but David has been extremely careful to protect his identity. Over the ensuing weeks David discovered how to activate the thing in his chest and thus grow the bug-thing exoskeleton, and how to turn it off. He tested the range of his strange new abilities and discovered that he was incredibly powerful in the bug form.
Taking to the streets at night he started hunting drug dealers and other street criminals in the suburbs outside of Millenium City. Sniffing up the food chain he started going after minor bosses and soon will have penetrated the criminal world sufficiently to start singling out real movers and shakers. David has not been gentle in his war on crime; many criminals have been greivously wounded and some have been killed. David has a tendency to kill the ones he thinks will beat the Justice system outright. David has been appropriating funds when he comes across drug money and has been putting it all away in several off shore accounts through intermediaries in his daughters name; when her time comes she's going to inherit quite a bit of money.
The rumor of some kind of bug vigilante has been circulating among the street organizations, and some whisper of it was picked up by PRIMUS which has has since started to look into the matter.
