| Biography |
Not much is known about the villain called Wulfen as the feral and bestial monster is not exactly the greatest conversationalist in the world. Truth be known, Wulfen's animalistic brain isnt too good at recalling things that are not immediately useful to his own survival and he would have to struggle to recall his origin himself. Fortunately the story isn't very gripping so it's lack of telling is no great loss. Park Ranger Vin Arneson was bitten by a large and feral wolf that was caught in a trap that he tried to help free in some remote parklands up in frosty northern Oregon. Freed, the wolf fled into the woods. Vin dressed the bite and felt fine, more than fine even, until the next full moon...and you know the rest of the story from there. |
Vin succumbed to the curse harder than most, or perhaps he's affected by a stronger than usual version of it. Either way, he eventually got to the point where he is stuck in wolf-man form and his human personality has been almost completely subsumed. Many years of running wild passed in timeless bliss until Vin was found by the enigmatic sorceress called Incantrix who used her magics to exert control and bind Vin to her service. She named him Wulfen, and sends him forth into the world on her tasks and whims. |
| Capabilities and Motivations |
Wulfen is a farily simple creature, with simple needs and wants. Other than appeasing his feral instincts, he yearns to serve Incantrix and this is the only thing that keeps the beast even semi-stable and intent on a task. He is a big slashy terrifying difficult to hurt monster with supernaturally sharp claws and teeth that can shred through most mundane materials with ease. Only the hardest or most resistant materials, energy fields, magical armor, and similar edge cases can resist them. Wulfen is very durable and regenerates at a rapid rate from almost all forms of harm...but he does have the classic vulnerability to silver and can be taken down and even killed by silvered weapons. |
Wulfen also has exceptionally sharp senses and is good at spotting things that slip by the notice of most people. He can detect the supernatural, track by scent, and has incredibly sensitive olfactory and auditory awareness. Unless he is actively engaged by more obvious opponents or ordered by Incantrix to focus on something else, he prioritizes singling out 'prey' that tries to hide. Those bitten by Wulfen have a very small but non-zero chance of becoming infected by lycanthropy themselves, and he is sometimes accompanied by lesser lycanthropic minions that form a pack with him as the Alpha. |
