He wears an armored costume patterned strongly after the German black, red, and gold tricolor, with a sturdy helmet and face concealing goggles. He has a load-bearing harness and utility belt festooned with gadgets and pockets, and carries a flight pack on his back. He carries a strange looking pistol, and has raised knuckles on his gloves that hint at some kind of brass-knuckles style insert. He also has an inconspicuous bulge on his left wrist under his costume that might conceal a gadget as well. He sometimes wears a rebreather mask that attaches to the helmet and neck of his armor to create an air-proof seal, which also conceals his face completely and leaves him with no exposed skin. Ing has a scrambled voice that disguises the timbre and pitch of his voice, but not his accent.
Biography Ing is a mysterious and highly anonymous industrial saboteur and espionage specialist who first appeared on government databanks in 2003. By 2004, a string of sophisticated sabotages and data thefts targeting high-tech industries, military contractors, and infrastructure facilities were linked to a single perpetrator. A brief security camera image finally put a face to the agent-for-hire, who criminal informants identified as Ing. His origins and employers remain completely unknown, with his German accent and flag-patterned suit being his only identifying characteristics. As his reputation spread, corporations and governments stepped up security, leading Ing into several confrontations with security forces. He proved more than capable of defeating them with his wide array of gadgets. Eventually, superheroes began to intervene, and after a few narrow escapes—including a very close encounter with the Southern Justice super team in Atlanta—Ing adapted his strategy to this new level of threat. Realizing he could not contest with full super-teams on his own, Ing began recruiting his own super-powered agents. He formed a new supervillain group called the Violators, whose founding members included the former arena fighter Fracas and the notorious mutant menace Bobcat. With this new team (sometimes accompanied by a shadowy, unknown female), the Violators have proven highly successful, often overwhelming both security forces and established superhero teams. Capabilities and Motivations Ing is a very competent gadgeteer and technologist with no known superhuman abilities. His threat comes from his advanced, custom-built equipment and his brilliant engineering mind. He carries a broad array of gizmos, including an advanced variable-setting gun, multifunctional grenades, demolition materials, sophisticated sensory-enhancing goggles, and teleportation technology. He is also a master of improvisation, capable of modifying existing technology, weaponizing items on-hand, or building specific devices for a mission. Ing's motivations are a complete mystery, as he maintains his anonymity with extreme care and limits his interactions to a bare minimum. He operates as an agent-for-hire, which suggests a financial motive, but it is unknown who he works for or what his ultimate goals are. Whether he is driven by profit, ideology, or some personal agenda is a closely guarded secret.
