Charles is a moderately attractive young man. As himself he dresses in normal street clothes for a young man. As Bobcat he wears a fancy professionally made black and yellow costume that he bought with money made as part of the Violaters. He wears dark wrap around sunglasses, and rides a nice motorcycle that Ing has upgraded a bit for him. He looks happy in a cocky screw you, I know I'm cool sort of way.
Biography
Charles grew up in Dallas, where he was relentlessly mocked and bullied by his peers, friends, and even his own family due to a mild stutter. He learned to hide his pain behind a false laugh, but inwardly the abuse ground him down. This constant torment culminated during his senior year of high school when, pushed too far by a cruel bullying session in the cafeteria, his mutant powers erupted. Visualizing all his pent-up rage, he unleashed a massive telekinetic wave that destroyed the lunchroom and severely injured dozens of students.
The backlash was swift and severe. Charles was expelled, faced lawsuits, and became a national symbol of the 'mutant menace'. The mockery he once endured was replaced by terror and complete ostracization, even from his own mother. While on house arrest and falling into a deep depression, any chance for help was destroyed when an anti-mutant hate group attacked him at his home. This final betrayal rekindled his anger, and he fought back, destroying his attackers and several houses in the process.
Realizing the world would never accept him, Charles decided to look out for himself. He stole a motorcycle and fled to California. Arriving in San Diego, he was eventually approached by Ing, leader of the Violators. The offer of good pay, a social circle that accepted him, and the chance to use his powers to push back at the world was exactly what Charles wanted. He joined the supervillain team, took the name Bobcat, and finally found a life where he felt in control.
Capabilities and Motivations
Bobcat is an incredibly powerful but extremely limited mutant psychokinetic. His powers manifest in two specific ways: projecting devastating waves of concussive force from his forehead and generating a powerful personal force field. He activates these abilities through visualization—imagining waves of hate to attack and a protective cocoon to defend. While he currently lacks fine control, he has the vast potential to mature into a full-fledged telekinetic.
Bobcat's motivations are born from a lifetime of abuse and rejection. The nice, sensitive kid he used to be was ground down, replaced by a cynical and angry young man with a chip on his shoulder the size of the Lone Star State. He is driven by a need to look out for number one and get his way by any means necessary. Joining the Violators gave him an outlet for his rage and a sense of power and respect he was always denied. He hasn't killed anyone yet, but his anger at the world makes it only a matter of time.
