From the high school track to the college gridiron, he was always a star, but he was never the best. He was constantly overshadowed by someone faster, someone stronger, or someone with more natural talent. This persistent second-place status festered within him, feeding a dark ambition and a relentless competitive streak. He became obsessed with not just winning, but with dominating, believing that his natural fitness and hard work should have made him an undisputed champion. |

His obsession eventually led him to a dangerous, experimental procedure designed to artificially enhance a person's physical abilities. Though the procedure was meant to be a way to create the ultimate athlete, it was unstable, and he ended up with a far more potent and dangerous result. The process granted him incredible speed and durability, but it also warped his already intense competitive nature, turning it into a predatory instinct. He no longer just wanted to win; he now craved the humiliation and defeat of his opponents, especially other speedsters, viewing them as rivals to be crushed and outpaced at every turn. |
