| When he allows himself to be seen, Hypersonic is a slim sniper in a high-tech suit of stealthy black armor. He wears a full helmet, with a single cyclopean lens and a simple black hood. He carries a sleek, technically advanced sniper rifle. In his secret identity Karl Thorpe is a wiry and gaunt middle aged man with sharp hawkish features. He dresses in normal street clothes, nothing flashy or memorable. |

| Biography |

Karl Thorpe was a prodigious marksman recruited into a secretive CIA black ops program. He quickly became one of their most effective assets, and a deep-cover operative. During a mission to eliminate a high-profile target, Thorpe's CIA handlers sold out his team to avoid a political fallout. He was the sole survivor, left for dead in a foreign prison. During his brutal escape, he realized that the agency he had served saw him as nothing more than a disposable tool. This betrayal shattered his faith in any organization and ignited a burning hatred for the institutions he once protected. |

He went freelance, and was eventually recruited into Warboss's organization assuming the identity of Warshot. This arrangement had its upside, most notably a significant gear upgrade from the standard miltech Karl normally used to a power armored suit and an advanced sniper rifle. As Warshot he proved to be a valuable asset to Warboss, but Karl's inability to feel comfortable working for an untrustworthy organization prevented him from settling in to his role. |

After a few years, Karl had a 'real talk' with Warboss and managed to come to an agreement to leave the organization respectfully and without burning bridges. Warboss generously allowed Karl to keep his gear as a parting gift, in return for a gentlemen's agreement to not inconvenience each other in the future. Karl changed his nom de guerre to Hypersonic and began operating as a high-end, highly paid mercenary, living a life of luxury and independence. |

Hypersonic is a high-tech assassin who combines his past military training with advanced, custom-built gear. He can execute pinpoint-accurate shots on distant targets and create specialized ammo for tactical effects. In addition to his lethal offense, his armor grants him the ability to turn invisible, which, combined with his sniper training makes him a master of stealth, misdirection and evasion. His gear further enhances his mobility, allowing him to rapidly reposition himself via swing lines to escape or gain a strategic advantage. He also excels as a lone operator and in overwatch positions with some distance between him and other operators. |

Hypersonic accepts contracts that pay extremely well, often targeting corporate executives, politicians, or rivals of wealthy clients. He is motivated by the freedom that comes with his immense wealth. He prides himself on his lethality and efficiency. He prefers missions that allow him to out-think and out-maneuver his opponents from a distance, proving he is a cut above common criminals and even most superheroes. |
