Biography
Marcus Hamilton was once a decorated special forces operative, a patriot who believed his duty was to protect his country at any cost. After a mission went disastrously wrong, he was discharged and left disillusioned. After his discharge, Hamilton joined a private military technology firm, where his old contacts and skills were highly valued. He worked on a secret project: the 'Archon' Power Suit, an armor system designed for mass-scale battlefield dominance. The project was completed successfully, but was shut down due to budget overruns. Hamilton stole the system, and his first public act as Archoninator was to obliterate the facility and kill the most involved people to cover his tracks and eliminate knowledge of the armor system that might be used to disable or counter it.
Now armed with might that would allow him to be more than a cog or a pawn, he set out to become a premier supervillain for hire and supermerc. Most of the time he is employed by petty dictators and small armies as a battlefield asset, but he does supervillain work for the right price. When he takes a job, the first thing he does before doing any work is set up a lair somewhere in the region to house his teleporter. Attentive heroes might catch him out before he can do so, or spawn camp his lair to finally capture him. If he were to be divested of his armor, his reign of villainy would be over.
Capabilities and Motivations
Archoninator is an armored juggernaut equipped with a devastating cannon that can attack multiple targets at once. His power suit provides immense durability, with built-in armor that reduces both physical and energy damage. He can also project a reflection field that retaliates against attackers by dealing damage to nearby targets. A mastery over annihilation and superior strength allows him to succeed at tasks that require overwhelming destructive force. If defeated in a fight, a teleport beacon in his armor can instantly transport him back to his lair, ensuring his escape and eventual return.
Archoninator uses his overwhelming power efficiently. Stoic and ruthless, Marcus is a man of few words, preferring his actions to speak for him. The immense, impersonal power of his suit and cannon have eroded his remaining humanity, turning him into a force of nature more than a man. His old-soldier stoicism remains, but it has been twisted into an obsessive need for control and the absolute execution of his plans. He is entirely confident in his superiority, seeing heroes as obstacles rather than true adversaries.
