| Biography |
Given the best education his father's well-padded bankroll could afford and primed to inherit his family's wide business interests as his sole heir, Alex spent most of his youth in prestigious boarding schools, where his urge for domination blossomed as he used his frightening intellect and unswerving force of will to manipulate and control the other boys and even many of the teachers at the instituitions. What Alex didn't know at the time is that he is an eldritchly significant individual, a child of dark destiny with a role to play in portentious events yet to come. |
After reaching adulthood, he took over the business and expanded it dramatically over multiple decades. He also felt a pull towards the occult, and started down the left hand path, eventually becoming at least as influential in the world of the occult as he was in business. Then the superhero known as Legend appeared on the scene, helping to solve several mystically oriented crimes and evincing numerous mystical abilities. Alex could literally feel Legend's power from over a hundred miles away. It was inevitable that the two would run afoul of each other, as they are destined to oppose one another. Abraxas operates from the shadows, behind the schemes of various cults and occultists, behind the corporate machinations of his many business interests and shell companies. |
NOTES: Abraxas is a Lex Luthor sort of villain, but with an occultist bent. His public persona is a carefully managed Public Relations fabrication. He's one of the richest people in the world, a famous CEO with enormous clout. |
| Capabilities and Motivations |
Alex has no obvious powers except to those with mystical awareness. But with those with eyes to see it, he appears to be a mystical black hole absorbing arcane energies. He is shrewdly intelligent, has an indomitable will, can detect magic innately, and is extremely resistant to mystical forces. His life force is sustained by the magic he absorbs, and he has vast stores of vitality. |
However, his main ability is that the universe seems to bend to his will. Things just seem to work out for Alex Abraxas and go his way more often than they should, as more than a few would-be enemies have discovered. He also wields broad corporate power and influence as the primary holder, CEO, and President of the vast conglomerate, Abraxas Inc. He has teams of lawyers on tap, many 'friends' in high and low places, and always has some favors to call upon as well. |
