| When wielding the Sword of Justice, Iris Raines becomes Prudentias — clad in flowing white robes trimmed in gold that give her the appearance of a living statue of justice. A blindfold obscures her eyes, the robes are designed for mobility rather than protection, allowing her to move freely and strike with precision, while the Sword of Justice shines with an almost ethereal light in her hands. Though she bears no scales or additional adornments, her presence alone exudes authority and determination. The overall effect is elegant yet imposing, like a divine arbiter walking the streets of Rook City. |
| As Iris Raines, she looks like any other college student, casual jeans and a hoodie, backpack slung over one shoulder, sleep deprivation and bed head clearly visible from late nights studying and training. Nothing about her civilian appearance hints at the powers she wields when transformed. She goes to great lengths to keep her heroic identity separate, advice constantly recited to her by Veritas. There are no weapons, no costumes, no signs of the supernatural, just a young woman trying to balance school, friendships, and a destiny she is still learning to control. |

| Biography |
Iris Raines, a senior in high school committed to Rook City University in the fall, had always believed in fairness and doing what was right. To see if law was a true interest of hers she visited the Rook City History Museum, there she felt inexplicably drawn to a rusted ceremonial sword labeled 'The Sword of Justice', displayed among artifacts from the old courthouse destroyed during the Great Riot. It wasn’t supposed to mean anything, the plaque said it was merely ornamental, likely recovered from courthouse ruins. Yet the longer she stared, the heavier her chest felt, as if the sword were calling to her. That night, unable to shake the feeling, Iris snuck back into the museum. The moment she touched the hilt, a blinding flash engulfed her. When she opened her eyes, she was transformed — clad in the living image of Lady Justice herself: blindfolded, the Sword shining in her hands. |
With the Sword, she became Prudentias, the living avatar of Justice. Blindfolded yet somehow able to see through truth and lies, her body moved with skill she didn’t consciously know. The Sword guided her, almost overriding her decisions. Without the Sword, she returned to being Iris — no powers, no costume — though she remembered everything and attempted to replicate her movements in training. The Sword had chosen her, but she was not yet its master. Slowly, she learned to balance her own will with the relic’s ancient power. Initially, she fought alone, stumbling into gang fights, cult rituals, and muggings, often relying on the Sword’s instincts to survive. Word spread quickly: 'The Blind Lady' haunted the streets of Rook City, a ghostly figure wielding a glowing sword. Most dismissed her as an urban legend. |
Her true breakthrough came the night she saw Veritas, Luxor, and Equitas in action. Watching them fight with coordination, strength, and purpose, she realized what it meant to be a real hero. Without thinking, she leapt into the fray, inexperienced and clumsy, almost jeopardizing the battle. Yet in the chaos, she landed a strike with the Sword that turned the tide. Afterward, the three debated her: Equitas saw her as a liability, too raw to trust; Luxor admired her bravery, reminded of himself before his transformation; Veritas recognized the danger of the relic but also saw her resolve. In the end, Veritas extended his hand: 'If Justice has called you, then Justice will judge you. Train with us. Learn control. Cautiously but truly, she was welcomed into the fold, beginning her journey from naive college student to hero alongside the city’s defenders. |
| Capabilities and Motivations |
Prudentias wields the Sword of Justice, a relic that chooses its wielder and channels their resolve into decisive, sometimes overwhelming strikes. In the hands of a non chosen wielder the blade works as any other mundane blade. But when equipped by a chosen, they take on the full visage of Lady Justice, guided by a force beyond her understanding. Their movements are precise and graceful, and she floats as if nearly weightless when under her own power (similar to wire fu or walking on the moon). While she does have to make periodic contact with a surface, she can glide down from a great height or bound gracefully between precarious perches that should not be able to bear her actual weight. The bearer of the sword is not fully in control at first, relying on the sword’s instincts as much as their own. Iris outside of battle trains tirelessly to replicate the sword’s techniques, learning to harmonize her own intuition with its ancient power. |
Though her abilities are largely physical, Prudentias is also capable of sensing injustice and deception, allowing her to anticipate threats before they occur. Without the sword, over time Iris has become a powerful combatant, but she doesn’t have the same ability to sense everything around her as she does when the sword is in her handsPrudentias fights to protect the innocent and uphold justice, even when outmatched or inexperienced. She can take damage to heal allies, parry attacks with the Sword of Justice, and execute precise strikes against multiple enemies. Her power grows with her experience, and over time she is expected to master the sword fully, blending her own skill with the relic’s will. Though she is young and sometimes naive, her courage, determination, and unwavering moral compass allow her to make a difference in the chaotic streets of Rook City, even against foes far stronger than herself. |
