| Pietas wears a deep navy-blue cloak that flows gracefully to the floor, edged with subtle gold trim. It doesn't appear to provide any armor, from the outside but Equitas designed it so the slight protection it provides isn't visually obvious. The robes evoke that of a Roman scholar with the cowl being inspired by the deity Pietas herself. The boots and gloves are also meant to help with the costumes look as well, no exposed skin other than the face is quite intentional, Helena doesn't plan on touching anything she is unsure of ever again. |
| Dr. Helena Marlowe chooses to wear no mask because she wants people to be a beacon of hope and justice. With no past to hide, and her persona of Pietas being her whole life now, there is nothing to protect in her other life. She lives to be a hero, she lives to fix the city that needs much correction. She sees it as her duty, she is loyal to the place she calls home, Pietas will not live for the city of Injustice no longer. |

| Biography |
Dr. Helena Marlowe, a distinguished professor of ancient history at Rook City University was asked to accompany a group of historians on an expedition into Rome due to her great knowledge of the time period. Even though Dr. Marlowe is much more comfortable in a classroom, she was honored that others found her to be useful. Also her curiosity of uncovering lost artifacts and forgotten knowledge convinced her as well. During the excavation in the ruins of a Roman-era temple hidden beneath a remote city site, she discovered a radiant amulet inscribed with symbols of Pietas, the Roman personification of duty, devotion, and moral righteousness. Dr. Marlowe eager to show the rest of the group what she found, she grabbed the idol not thinking of the possible side effects that could come with it. The moment she touched it, a surge of divine energy coursed through her. She felt radiance flow through her and a supernatural surge of power unlike anything she could've ever imagined. She gained the ability to teleport herself and others, manipulate space to shield allies, and channel radiant energy for healing or protection. |
Confused and curious by the sudden changes in her body and senses, Helena attempted to test her abilities in isolation. She went on paid leave for as long as she could, with the sole focus to research what had happened to her. Dr. Marlowe, so familiar with history, couldn't find a single entry in any historical book mentioning an amulet of Pietas. Consistent failure to both understand her power and control led Helena to great confusion. She lost her teaching job at the university, she couldn't focus on it anymore, her dream of teaching flipped upside down just because of one impulsive decision. With no other options, Dr.Marlowe teleported around the nights of Rook City the best she could until she was able to find Veritas, Equitas, Luxor and Prudentas fighting crime. Just popped into existence right in front of Veritas, and teleported out within an instant. In desperation she pleaded, cried, begged Veritas for help, she needed someone to guide her. Veritas, needing to get back to the fight, quickly told her to show him her abilities in battle and afterwards he was sure they could work something out. |
She showcased her ability, popping in and out of existence repeatedly, confusing the foe with ease, and all the while assisting the heroes with defense and healing. Veritas seeing the potential of her power and her obvious need for guidance and clarification, he welcomed her onto the team. Helena began learning to harmonize her intellect with her newfound powers. She quickly found her niche as a protector and tactical support, able to teleport allies out of danger, redirect attacks, and bolster her team with radiant energy. Her scholarly mind allows her to approach problems strategically, while her sense of moral duty ensures that she prioritizes saving lives and preventing harm. Over time, she earned the trust and respect of Prudentas, Luxor, and Equitas, becoming a stabilizing and nurturing presence in the team. She embraces the mantle of Pietas fully, a scholar turned explorer, now a divine agent of justice. |
