Player Name:
BACKGROUND
Height: 6' 3" Hair: Black
Weight: 163 lbs Eyes: Blue
Appearance: The Athenian is tall, muscular, and inhumanly beautiful.
Personality: Agatha has not yet surrendered completely to the dream of Athens, but it is only a matter of time. Already it has reshaped her into a Heroine, driving her to fight monsters in the night and reach out to men and women of power. Before her transformation she was one of the idle rich, living off of a trust fund and filling her days with worthy causes. Now she sees herself as a defender of the weak, and revels in using her powers. She can no longer maintain her civilian identity, despite her concern for her large extended family, and has no refuge from the probing eye of the media.

The dreams of Athens’ glories and last days haunt her nights, sometimes robbing her of sleep. As time passes, those dreams continue to push her towards a destiny not of her choosing.
Quote:“You will never harm anyone, ever again.” “Please, call me Thena. I was most impressed by your skill.”
Background: The city shook, and the walls cracked. The fires were everywhere now, as were the screams. Athens was dying.

Beyond the walls, Bronteus fell broken. Torvost Son of Skarn grunted his satisfaction. The champion of Athens had fought well, and with honor. Now the city belonged to Skarn. Kneeling, Torvost cut off the ears of his enemy.

The roar of falling stone crashed through the Temple of Hera. The Priestess and her Queen stood by the viewing pool, and watched the death of their king. Athens would not be saved.

“I will not have it” spoke the Queen.

“We have little choice” spoke the Priestess, her sister.

“We too have walked the worlds. Once we taught them the glory that was Athens, and we brought them peace.”

“As now Skarn brings us peace?” The Priestess’ voice was tired.

“There is no time to bicker!” The Queen controlled her anger, and her panic. “When I was a girl, a champion was sent to a world rich in magic, a world of heroes and terrible weapons! With the aid of the heroes of that world, we could take back our own!”

The Priestess considered this seriously, as the Temple of Hera trembled. “No. I understand, but no. There is not enough time for such a project. It would take years to secure their aid.”

“It is the last hope of Athens!” The Queen looked her sister in the eye. “We shall die soon you and I. Skarn shall have our city, and our world. Act now with me, and one day Athens shall be born again. We shall reach out to this world of champions, and place the dream of Athens in one who shares our blood. That dream shall flourish, and she shall gather about her men and women of power. They shall be our vengeance! They shall return here, and free our people!”

Slowly, the Priestess nodded. Together they began the ritual, and the dream of Athens stretched out across the worlds.

Agatha Sorros sat up in her bed. The dream again. So real, more real than the world around her. It would not leave her alone. Shaking, Agatha staggered into her bathroom. The images, nearly as vivid as they had been in sleep, continued to pour through her. Downing a glass of water, she looked into the mirror.

The woman in the mirror was beautiful beyond compare, and upon her head rested the Golden Laurels of Athens.

Some time later …

The Master sat in a large and comfortable room across from one of the most beautiful women in the world. He nodded, slowly. “I can help you understand, and I can help you find direction. Still, it is a dangerous path on which you tread. You may regret your choice to enter the world of shadows.”

Agatha nodded, and firmly took the old man’s hand. “I need to understand what has happened. I thank you for agreeing to help.”
Powers/Tactics: The Athenian is now a straight brick with some serious tricks. Her high speed, relatively high combat value and lasso make her a very effective opponent when facing slower but stronger opponents: she will usually Grab and Throw these targets. Her high speed on foot allows her to close with many foes who may think themselves to be at a safe distance, and she can be very hard to hit and hurt. If she does choose to use her lasso to try to “reprogram” a target, she will generally spend a full turn draining their Ego first. After that, her commands will be very difficult to disobey. None of her “magic items” count as a focus, and only the Golden Lasso can be removed without first incapacitating the Athenian. Her Cestus allows her to severely punish even the toughest foes.
Campaign Use: As the Dream of Athens has gained in power, the Athenian gained both social skills and a range of Brick Tricks, as well as better mental defenses, contacts, a reputation, and a Martial Art built to take advantage of her powers. Down powering the Athenian involves reducing her Speed, Dex, and Str.

She is now almost ready to attack Skarn, and to attempt to free Athens; she might call on the PCs for help. The Dream is now everything to her. If the Athenian fails, Skarn may strike back against her power base: Earth.
