Special

Crew Selection: This Hangers-on cannot be chosen as Crew to participate in a battle. However whenever a battle happens on the gang's own turf (i.e., they have the Home Turf advantage in a scenario), roll a D6 for this Hangers-on before choosing a Crew. On a result of 1, 2 or 3 this Hangers-on is present and must be included as part of the Crew.
Unadvanceable: This fighter cannot gain XP and cannot gain Advancements.
No Permanent Injury: If this fighter suffers a Lasting Injury that would make a change to their fighter card, they are instead removed from the gang roster.
Nomadic Peddler of Wares: During the Post-Battle Sequence if a gang has a Wastes Merchant who is not in Recovery or Captured, the Wastes Merchant can take the Seek Rare Item action or the Seek Buyer action even if their gang cannot ordinarily do so.
Lie Low: After this fighter completes a Move (Simple) action, they may become Pinned. Ranged attacks targeting this fighter when they are Prone suffer a -1 penalty at all ranges (not just Long Range). Finally, there is a -1 penalty to Detect this fighter while they are Prone.
Low-crawler: This fighter treats both the Crawl (Double) action and the Crawl Through (Double) action as Simple rather than Double. Additionally, this fighter may make a free Stand Up action after making a Crawl or Crawl Through action if they are not Seriously Injured. Finally, there is a -1 penalty to Detect this fighter while they are Prone.

For example, if they are wearing a still suit and wastes robes, they would have a 5+ save. If a fighter does not already have a save roll, waste robes grant a save of 6+.

Wargear: Wastes Hooch

Wastes Hooch is a catch-all term for various batches of cheap alcohol commonly available among the inhabitants of the Ash Wastes. When an Active or Pinned fighter with a flask of Wastes Hooch is activated, they may choose to delete Wastes Hooch from their fighter card immediately and take the following action:

Drink Wastes Hooch (Double): The following conditions are in effect for the remainder of the battle:
  • This fighter gains a +1 Toughness and a +1 bonus to all Cool and Willpower checks.
  • This fighter suffers -1 Ballistic Skill and a -2 penalty to all Leadership and Intelligence checks.
  • When this fighter would be Pinned roll a D6; if the roll is even this fighter is not Pinned.
  • When this fighter would take the Stand Up action, roll a D6; if the roll is odd this fighter fails to Stand Up and instead loses their action.
