Bersaerk |
The warrior learns the secrets of working
himself into battle lust. He gains the ability
to Frenzy but must charge the enemy if he
is within range. |
Counter Charge |
When charged the warrior launches himself
at his foe. Both him and his attackers count
as charging, and attacks are resolved in
inititive order. The spear special rule
does not apply. This skill can not be used
if the warrior is already engaged with another
enemy fighter. |
Swinging Charge |
The warrior may use a hook and rope to execute
a special diving charge attack on any model
within 6" in any direction but may
not move normally. They need only have a
rope and hook and must make a single Initiative
test. If they fail the Initiative test,
the diving charge fails, but they swing
past their foes and land 1 inch from them
as if they executed a failed charge. All
conditions necessary for a diving charge
apply. |
Battle Cry |
The warrior yells so loudly and intensely
while charging that a single foe that
he manages to get base to base with must
make an immediate Leadership check or freeze
from shock.
This is resolved
at the very beginning of HtH before any
blows are struck. If the target fails his
Leadership check he may not strike in that
HtH phase and counts as being knocked down
only for the purposes of resolving attacks
against him; i.e. all models attacking him
roll to wound without rolling to hit.
This can be
used in conjunction with Counter Charge
and Swinging Charge. Models immune to Psychology
or Fear are not affected by this ability,
but models that are only immune to All Alone
tests (such as Combat Masters) are. The
power only works for 1 HtH phase. |
Insane Courage |
The warrior is immune to all Psychology
(except Routs). Not available to warriors
that Frenzy. |
Skald |
The warrior is also an accomplished storyteller
and keeper of oral traditions; thus other
warriors push themselves to look as good
as possible in his presence so that their
deeds will be remembered positively. Therefore
once per turn any other Norsican warrior
in the warband that is within 6" of
the Skald and are not Frenzied may reroll
a single failed die result (excluding armor
saves). The second roll stands.
This abilty
does not include Hired Swords, Dramatis
Personae, allies or any other Norscans
of other warbands. This ability only works
while the Skald is not knocked down or stunned.
This ability
cannot be taken by the Leader, and should
the Leader be killed any warrior with this
ability is automatically disqualified from
being a candidate for assuming Leadership;
if a Skald is one of the most qualified
to lead the position passes to the next
most qualified automatically.
NOTE: The
Skald himself does not benefit from this
ability, and only ONE warrior in the entire
band may have this ability at any given
time. |
Grim Determination |
LEADER ONLY: The Leader may reroll failed
Rout Tests. The second roll must be taken. |
