PERSONALITY & MOTIVATION
Oppose VIPER wherever they might be found.

Louis is a somewhat angry young man, prone to violent outbursts in combat.

On a more personal note, he is a big fan of heavy metal, thrash, deathcore, and other forms of heavy, angry music. Music is the one personal outlet he allows himself, and he occassionally treats himself to a concert, but only if he feels like he deserves it. Smashing a VIPER Cell is worthy of a concert for example. Listening to too much music too loud has left Magnitude with some serious hearing loss. As a side effect of this he tends to talk somewhat loudly so that he can hear himself; he doesnt realize he is doing it however.

Many people assume Louis isnt too bright, due to a combination of his large size, his wild appearance, and the fact that he only has a sophomore highschool education. However, Louis is actually pretty bright and has a good amount of street smarts as well. He's smart enough to realize the value of other people underestimating him at least, and he makes no effort to disillusion those who assume he's just a mindless thug.
CATCH PHRASE(S)
"Call me back when you've actually got something difficult for me to do."
POWERS & SPECIAL EFFECTS
Magnitude has a superhuman physique granting vast strength, durability, and general athletic prowess. He is virtually tireless, never growing fatigued. He is able to withstand high calibre weapons without worry, can dead lift up to 6.4 kilotons, and can press 3.2 kilotons without strain.

In combat Magnitude tends to manuever using his prodigious strength-enabled jumps and his natural athletic talent (Acrobatics & Breakfall), setting up for a mighty strike delivered where it will do the most good. His agility and gracefulness is often quite suprising as he looks lumbering and slow.

However, while Magnitude is significantly stronger than even most other strong superhumans, he isn't as able to resist damage as well as other such strong supers. Sure, he's bullet proof and just about immune to damage from mundane sources, but in a punchout with other superhumans he relies heavily on staying alert and skating out of the way of danger (maintain DCV).

Magnitude's combat style is simple but effective, and he is very capable of striking even most dodgy opponents, though highly skilled martial artists and speedsters often give him problems. Usually one punch is all it takes for Magnitude to flatten someone.

ORIGIN
Louis' family was wiped out by a VIPER Nest's attack on a public shopping center when Louis was 15. Louis himself would have been killed as well if his latent mutant powers had not manifested when part of the roof of the mall collapsed on top of him, his mother, father, and two younger brothers.

After waking up in the hospital the next day, Louis was placed into a state run orphanage. However he escaped within days, using his newfound agility and strength to scale the orphanage's outer wall.

Louis found the streets uninviting, but his superhuman resilience and strength insured his survival. Getting a job as a dishwasher under the table at a downtown cafe, he was able to put himself up at a hostel and slowly started what would become a lifelong pursuit of bringing vengeance to the Snakes. Working nights he had plenty of time during the days to track the elusive group down locally. It took over a year of searching but he finally sussed out the local cell and did the unexpected.

Making friends with some of the goons in their off hours he played dumb, and when they eventually moved to recruit him he seemingly reluctantly went along for the ride. Once they took him into their base however, he got rowdy and busted the place up from within. It was a modest nest, so he managed to get away with it, but was still forced to retreat with the job only half done.

Three weeks later a VIPER Team burned down the restraunt Louis worked at, with several customers and most of the staff inside. Louis easily recovered from the effects of the fire after getting out the back by busting through a wall, and the tragedy of the innocents slain only motivated him to smash VIPER even more.

The VIPER nest commander and his cronies figured Louis was dead for sure, and were suitably suprised when he busted into the Nest later that night and got most of them in their sleep. After wiping out the local nest Louis moved on to another city, and so on for several years, fighting VIPER in a variety of ways both by himself and teamed up with local heroes. However many heroes have issues with Magnitude's frequently terminal solutions to "the VIPER problem", and he has learned to quickly figure out what he can get away with around the various heroes he meets. He's a pretty shrewd judge of whether a particular hero will look the other way when he kills VIPER minions or interfere.

Eventually his efforts came to the attention of VIPER higherups and retributive attacks escalated to ever more serious affairs; crack units toting serious weaponry soon put Magnitude on the defensive and forced him to ground, and he only narrowly avoided being done in from an ambush by members of the Dragon Branch with the help of a fellow VIPER hunter known as Agent X.

After that he and Agent X teamed up for a good stretch, and also worked with other allies of Agent X's known as Gunman and Chrysalis. All four VIPER haters working together became quite a thorn in VIPER's side, particularly when they further joined forces with the famous former Silver Avenger John Wrath and his Millennial Men teammate Turbofist for a short time.

When last seen Magnitude was still fighting VIPER in close alliance with Agent X.
