Briana Blake is an example Hexer.
|
- Type: Special Power
- Duration: Instant
- Target: Target's DMCV
- Range: Line of Sight
- Costs END: Yes
- Cost: 10 Character Points for every 1d6 of Hex
|
A character with this Special Power can put a hex upon another character, causing
them to suffer various ill effects for a period of time.
|
Mechanically this is accomplished by adding a number of d6 of Unluck to a target
character.
|
Each 1d6 of Unluck imposed by Hex costs 10 Character Points.
|
This effect normally lasts until the next time the victim suffers some level of
Unluck effect; however the duration can be converted to a standard time chart increment
instead if a player prefers. The effect will last for 1 Hour by default, and this
can be moved down the Time Chart for an additional +1/4 Advantage per step or up
the Time Chart for a -1/4 Limitation. Thus 5 Minutes would be a -1/2 Limitation,
and 1 Year would be a + 1 1/2 Advantage.
|
Hex costs END to use, is Instant, and has Line of Sight Range. Hex is visible to
one Sense, typically either Mental or Mystic depending upon its SFX.
|
To use Hex, the character makes a Mental Attack Roll (ECV vs DECV or OMCV vs DMCV).
If they hit, the victim immediately incurs the number of dice of Unluck at the level
of effect the attacker is using.
|
Every 5 points of Power Defense or Supernatural Resistance a target has resists
1d6 of Hex, negating it entirely. Reduced Negation can be purchased as an Adder
for Hex, costing 2 points per level; each level of Reduced Negation cancels the
effect of 5 points of Power Defense or Supernatural Resistance.
|
Hex does not require eye contact, incantations, or other Limitations to use, but
combines well with such Limitations to model "evil-eyes" and "curses" and other
such concepts. It can also be used to model a form of probability manipulation.
|
Aggressive Hex (6e)
|
Aggressive Hex: this +1/2 Advantage may be applied to the Hex power, changing
the Mental Attack Roll made when Hexing a target from being resolved as OMCV vs DMCV
to instead be resolved as OMCV vs OMCV.
