Typifying Excerpt
|
"…but old Smuts wouldn't let it go, and his bully-boys hounded them right out of
the old world and into the new. You thought Odessa was about Nazis? Pff...Anyway,
after that they spread all over the Americas like a cancer. Carved it all up like
a bunch of undead Mafioso fighting over turf. They got rules and shit, but the only
real rule is they who have the most power are a rule unto themselves. But even the
dumbest, meanest, and most power mad of the lot of em all obey the One Rule of Unreality
above all else. Hell, when it comes to enforcing secrecy on Vamps that are accepted
into their so-called fucking 'society', the Lords of the Night are way more effective
than any bunch of Feds or bounty buzzards…" - Excerpt from the after action debrief

Profile
|
L'Éminence Nocturne is a rumored hidden society of Vampires that goes to great
lengths to keep their existence a secret.
|
Hard facts are not forthcoming regarding this organization, and its existence has
not been fully corroborated. However mounting evidence gathered in the decades after
World War II does strongly suggest that at least some of the rumors and supposition
regarding this group have some basis in fact.
|
Known History
|
L'Éminence Nocturne is rumored to have originated amongst surviving powerful
Vampires that escaped the pogroms in Europe and Africa after World War II by fleeing
to the Americas by various means.
|
Supposedly a loose society was formed to accomplish multiple ends, the most significant
of which was an agreement to go "underground" and operate from behind a veil of
secrecy, using the natural effect of the Supernatural Accords to encourage Mundanes
to not believe in the Supernatural to their own advantage.
|
Secondarily the greatest among the Vampires reputedly agreed on broad territorial
boundaries to avoid internal conflict amongst themselves which would only serve
to further weaken them collectively and individually, and have spent the decades
since then infiltrating and manipulating Mundane concerns to their own benefit.
|
Known Motivation
|
L'Éminence Nocturne reputedly places continued avoidance of attention by massed
powerbases of Mundanes as foremost amongst their goals, with secondary goals related
to the accumulation of wealth, power, and a ready supply of fresh blood.
|
Known Abilities
|
L'Éminence Nocturne is rumored to be composed of very powerful elder Vampires
and their lesser flunkies and groupies. Extreme caution is highly recommened.
|
Known Associates
|
Vampires are often served by witting or unwitting human pawns and minions, and if
it exists at all the members of L'Éminence Nocturne would likely be no different.
