Description:
Miguel is a fit, mildly attractive hispanic man in his late 20's. He usually dresses casually in street clothes that allow him to blend as appropriate to whatever case he's working. He doesn't maintain a secret id and doesn't wear either a costume or a mask. His powers give off a reddish-orange energy signature and he is surrounded by swirling energy dots when his powers are in use.

PERSONALITY & MOTIVATION
Despite coming up the hard way, Miguel is a decent person through and through and is dedicated to helping the downtrodden. He is naturally cynical / distrustful versus authority figures in general, but can work with individuals who have proven their good intentions. He considers himself to be religious and believes that he was granted great powers so that he might fight evil and protect the innocent, and he conducts himself accordingly.

POWERS & SPECIAL EFFECTS
Miguel has the capacity to grow exponentially more powerful by passively absorbing harmful energies directed at him (including kinetic / blunt force energy); this is represented by his CAPACITAS powers. He is also protected from harm from any attack which he is able to absorb {Absorption As A Defense option, described in the Ultimate Brick; treat the amount rolled on the Absorption dice as resistant defense -- thus if a Physical Absorption roll came up with a total of 26 it would grant 26 rPD vs any attack that Miguel is able to apply that absorption roll against}. He is also much more difficult to knock around by attacks that he is able to absorb {Capacitas Inmóvil; he has up to 14" of KB Resistance, but the number of hexes or resistance in a given Phase cannot exceed the amount of Absorption rolled; thus if an absorption roll came up with a total of 10, only 10" of KB Resistance could be used until a subsequent Absorption roll was made in later Phases}.

As he absorbs energy, Miguel's mental and physical capabilities expand greatly; at maximum boost he is absurdly powerful (though his absorption based defenses no longer work). His running and swimming capability keeps pace with his general augmentation as well {Capacitas Natación and Capacitas El Activar; every 10 points absorbed between either energy or physical Absorption adds +1" of running and +1/2" of Leaping}.

Miguel is also healed by Absorbing damage, though this is a relatively mild effect {Capacitas El Curativo; Miguel can Regenerate up to 4 Body / Turn but no more than the number of Absorption rolls made in the Turn; thus if in a given Turn of combat he were only to roll his energy or physical Absorption once, he would only Regenerate 1 BODY at the end of that Turn}.

When Miguel uses his powers (has any Absorption effect still active) he is surrounded by a swirling storm of ephemeral energy dots of orangish hue. When he has little or no Absorption threshold the dots are small and sparse; as the amount of Absorption effect he currently has active increases the size and density of the dots increases and at max effect it makes for quite a show. However, the field isn't merely cosmetic; Miguel also has a kind of innate sense similar to touch via the field, almost as if it were an extension of his skin. When he has very little charge the effect only extends around his person like an aura, but as he absorbs more effect he is able to sense things at increasingly greater distances (effective out to 10" when the max effect of 100 points is absorbed). This sense is relatively short ranged and is stopped by anything that the energy dots of Miguel's field are unable to pass through which includes walls and air tight containers, but thus far nothing has been able to "blind" this sense {its bought as a seperate sense belonging to no sense group}; due to this field Miguel is very effective versus opponents that rely on sensory deprivation or invisibility as long as he can remain close enough to them for the field to apply.

Miguel does not detect as a mutant, but has no known justification for his abilities; they simply manifested one day when he was caught in the crossfire of a gang related drive by. However, not all mutants detect as such, and in the absense of any other explanation PRIMUS scientists cite mutation as the most likely source of powers. Miguel, however, believes his powers to be a divine gift.

In addition to his exceptional power, Miguel is a multitalented and street wise man with wide interests. He has effective detective skills and he has a PI's license in the state of New Mexico. He normally works street crime and investigates cases the cops don't want or that he feels are insufficiently handled by conventional law enforcement.
