The Empire is really pockets of civilization only tenuously connected to one another. Much of the land is heavily forested, and the terrain is infested with Greenskins, Beatmen, Chaos spawn, and run of the mill Bandits. Merely traveling from one city to another is an adventure, despite the constant vigilance of the Roadwardens. These lawmen patrol the highways and byways of the Empire, struggling to keep the roads clear and safe.
Few in number, Roadwardens frequently rely on local militias and Soldiers to deal with larger threats. Most of the time though a small posse of Roadwardens can take care of business.
