Urvasa are entrusted by a
quorum of Enza as effectively special agents tasked to carry out unusual
mission for the betterment a particular Anurzedrek or the religion as a
whole, depending on circumstances. Usually Priests (Endra) are appointed to
this role due to having special talents pertaining to a particular task at
hand, or for just generally having a can-do attitude and the confidence of
the elders that they will be a worthy agent. . |
Urvasa have some important
privileges and concessions allowed to them so that they may do their job
better. The most significant privilege is that they may ignore the edicts of
individual High Priests (Anurzi) so long as they adhere to the tenants of
the core religion. Another important concession is that Urvasa are allowed to
engage in deception regarding their membership in the religion in pursuit of
their goals, which is normally strictly taboo; they can masquerade as normal
citizens, or as being of a different rank than they actually are. The most
important ability of an Urvasa however is the ability to remove a Head
Priest (Anurza) from power and appoint another in their place, and other
similar internal policing powers. |
Once appointed to the position,
an Urvasa can only lose their status by a quorum of Elders with more members
than the one that appointed them in the first place, or by attaining Elder
Priest (Enza) rank themselves. In practice, the vast majority of Urvasa
remain in that role until and unless they themselves become an Enza. Urvasa
are relatively rare; perhaps one exists per 2,000 normal Urzali at any given
time. They also are usually kept on a fairly loose leash; part of their
mission is to keep an ear to the ground so to speak, even when not actively
involved with a mission or task. |
An Urvasa is the best suited
Urzali profession for adventuring, due to their nature. Urvasa exhibit a
fair degree of individualization, much more than mainstream Urzali following
the normal pattern of career progression, and provide easy fodder for
roleplaying. |

Urzali use the
Urzadrek variant of
Adeptology. |
Urzali are born naturally
attuned to the Divine spiritual power of their peoples ancestor worship and
are able to tap into the collective unconsciousness it represents to create
Magical Effects appropriate to the beliefs that worship represents. Urzadrek
is pantheistic, and Urzali represent all the dieties of the Roll of Urzed, a
listing of over a thousand recognized ancestral "dieties". |
Their powers are believed to come from them
attracting the attention of various "dieties" to intercede in matters of
interest to those "dieties", based upon the dogma surround each "dieties"
addition to the Roll of Urzed. Urzali incantations take the form of calling
on specific "dieties" to intercede via whatever Spell Effect the Urzali is
trying to cast, and many of their SFX take the form of spectral entities
manifesting. |
Anilzo have reached a middle
rank in the priesthood and are sent out as missionaries, to administer to
the needs of worshipers in out of the way places, and to spread their
religion. Adventures have been known to beset them along the way. |
