Barbarians

Path of Furious Flames

Barbarians upon the Path of Furious Flames are fueled by a raging, internal inferno. Rather than relying solely on brute anger, their rage is an impassioned, metabolic overdrive that causes them to literally burn from within. They are kinetic, twitchy, and often possess a fiercely artistic or dramatic streak.

In combat, they become living torches, radiating blistering heat, launching themselves across the battlefield on jets of flame, and turning their strikes into explosive detonations.

Level 3: Burning Passion

Your intense internal energy makes you naturally magnetic and expressive. You gain Proficiency in your choice of one of the following skills: Intimidation, Performance, or Persuasion. If you already have Proficiency in your chosen skill, you gain Expertise in it instead.

Additionally, you have an intuitive ability to speak, read, and write Primordial (Ignan).

Level 3: Burning Rage

When you enter your Rage, your metabolism accelerates and your body ignites. You gain the following benefits while Raging:

Blistering Heat. You gain Resistance to Fire and Cold damage.

Burning Corona. You shed Bright Light in a 15-foot radius and Dim Light for an additional 15 feet. When a creature within 15 feet of you hits you with an attack, you can use your Reaction to deal Fire damage to that creature equal to your Proficiency Bonus plus your Charisma modifier.

Level 6: White-Hot Intensity

You suffer no ill effects from extreme heat or extreme cold environments.

Furthermore, you can add your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1) to any saving throw you make to resist the Frightened or Charmed conditions, as your burning passion overrides external influence.

Finally, Fire damage dealt by your Barbarian features ignores Resistance to Fire damage.

Level 10: Brutal Strike Option

Before rolling the damage for your Brutal Strike, you may choose to have the extra damage be Fire damage. Additionally, when a target is dealt Fire damage by your Brutal Strike, you have the following additional effect option:

Flaming Strike. Another target of your choice within 15 feet of the target must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw (DC 8 plus your Strength modifier and Proficiency Bonus) or take Fire damage equal to 1d10 plus your Proficiency Bonus. If you are Raging, you may also add your Rage bonus to this damage.

Level 14: Burning Soul

You have Resistance to Fire damage all the time now, not just while Raging.

Elemental Affinity. You gain the creature type of Elemental (Fire) in addition to your other creature types, and you suffer no ill effects from the environment of the Elemental Plane of Fire. The initial disposition of Fire Elementals towards you is one category better than it normally would be, and they will not attack you unless their disposition changes to hostile. However, the initial disposition of Water Elementals towards you is one category worse than it normally would be.

Rocket Boost. When you move during your turn, you may project jets of flame from your body to go faster. If you do, you shed Bright Light in a 15-foot radius and Dim Light for an additional 15 feet, your Speed increases by 10 feet, moving doesn't provoke Opportunity Attacks, and you may leap triple your normal jump distance without requiring a running start.
