FANTASY HERO
Reorganized the
Lethality Options and
Arms & Armaments Variant. Improved the organization
of the Fantasy
Effects application to incorporate Vancian Spells and
Powers more effectively; made necessary changes to those two
apps as well to make it possible.
FANTASY HERO
Added a document on various options for making HERO System combats
more lethal.

SITE

Also, took the opportunity to reorg the main portal page.
FANTASY HERO
The
FantasyHERO Effect Lists page is up. It provides an
interactive interface to go after items (both magic and mundane),
exceptional abilities, granted powers, and more. It's definitely
in the process of being filled in with content, but there is
already a couple of hundred abilities presented. The long term
goal is to get all significant abilties presented on the site
into the effects database and accessible.
FANTASY HERO
Added conversions for the Feats, Totem Spirits, and Varisian Tattoos from the Pathfinder setting.
FANTASY HERO
Reorganized the Domain Packages for the Dominine Magic
System utilizing the new Effects architecture.
FANTASY HERO
Added new Named Spells lookup links to the Vancian Spells page (at the bottom).
Now you can easily look up, say, all of Bigby or Tenser's spells.
Also added spell lists for three new Clerical Domains Cold, Weather, and Skill
FANTASY HERO
Spent the last two weeks refactoring the architecture behind
the overhauled Vancian Spell and Psionic Power lists linked
to below. Got them on a unified system now, and all seems to
be working. Also implemented some new code to sort spells and
powers by level then name by request.

I leveraged the development of the new Vancian Spells list to redo the
Psionic Powers list as well.

FANTASY HERO

It's been a long time coming, but I finally rewrote the entire
Vancian Spell list content to be fully OOP. I just finished
replicating the last of the previously existing functionality,
and rolled it out...here. Now that the foundation is firmly
laid, additional features will be forthcoming.

The Character List by Genre is ready for
general usage, though its far from perfect.

METACYBER
Work has been picking up again, so I've had limited hobby time
this past month. However, I managed to sneak a few minor updates
to the
MetaCyber site in before I got too overloaded. I added
some inserts here and there with gear write ups, packages, and
whatnot. I also revised the Computer Skills pages to split the
content into smaller, easier to absorb chunks on separate pages.
The biggest single chunk of new content is the
NuBushi Package.
CHAMPIONS
Well, I've been slacking on keeping the what's new page up to
date, but I have been churning some stuff out. For starters
I started a new Champions campaign which we are currently calling
Champions of the West, for lack of a better name. The
site has character bios, character sheets, HERO Designer files,
and writes ups of the first three sessions which make for interesting
reading.
Additionally, I've put up two mini sites that are tangential
to this campaign, a group of lower powered NPC allies called
AEGIS, and a
villain group of industrial saboteurs / thieves called The Violators. Between the two there
are 10 full character write ups with art, Hero Designer files,
and team summaries.
ENDLESS
Posted up the beginnings of a new site featuring material for
the campaign I'm currently playing in, as developed and run
by another GM, Podfish. The campaign is called The Endless...check it out.

Got the new nav style applied to MetaCyber. Check it out...
WEBSITE
Ugh...been a rough couple of months of long hours and toil.
However, I have finally managed to finish a project I began
about 4 weeks ago to redo the navigation of the Fantasy HERO
site. There's a ton of information that I've built up in that
space over many years, and it can be hard to find things in
it...when even I found myself searching for stuff, I knew it
had to be improved.
Any way, gone are the "HOME" buttons found other places
on the site. In their place there are now three, count em, three
different nav controls available on pretty much all of the
Fantasy HERO content pages. There is a left nav menu,
a "bread crumb" trail across the top, and a sneaky
little nav menu hanging out at the bottom of each page (mouse
over to use).
Hopefully this will prove to be an improvement, and if its successful
I'll slowly but surely extend the same treatment to other parts
of the site.

WEBSITE
I was able to get the provider to point .shtml files at the
.NET Isapi, so I was able to write a custom HttpHandler for
the site to intercept and correct .shtml addresses to .aspx.
This means that all of the old remote links from message boards
and other gaming sites will resolve now, but going forward anyone
linking in should point to the real .aspx files. Thanks!
WEBSITE
You may have noticed some disruption the last few days as I
changed web providers.
Everything went pretty well, with only one hitch: the new provider
doesnt support SSI / SHTML so I had to rename / relink all the
shtml pages to aspx so that the .NET framework knows how to
render them. All the internal links should be good to
go, but external links such as from the heroboards and google
will not resolve. I'm going to try to make a custom 404 error
page to intercept and redirect, but in the meantime, all due
apologies.

METACYBER
Updated the
Amper archetype, after feedback from Checkmate, to allow
Ampers to "sell back" their starting resource pools
for more Real Points to buy boosts with. This made a lot of
sense, and was one of those "why didn't I think of that?"
ideas that seems so obvious once its tossed onto the table.
Thanks Checkmate!

A little eye-candy; a
Race Comparison Illustration of all the races I currently
have artwork for. Ill try to get the Haelfinan and Ullu races
represented eventually, as well as some of the more esoteric
/ minor races. The file is a bit large, so click only if you
are patient or have broadband.

Finally got around to doing a campaign specific custom character

the sample characters using it, and added a new character (Ismet).

FANTASY HERO

Added a "Detailed" list to the

Kaira Swanwing: This Rogue 5 \ Wizard 8 character is
mostly converted into the HERO System; I just need to convert
some of her more esoteric magic items, and add some disadvantages.
