| Youngest son of a noble lineage stretching back to the earliest histories of the Machtig, son of a powerful Reeve and grandson of a man that is a legend in his own lifetime. A mighty Thegn, master of many weapons and as comfortable in heavy armor as he is in his own skin, he is also a skilled weaponsmith (called a Waffschmeid among the Machtig). | |
| Despite coming from such a well-to-do background and already having a trade that would assure him an easy life should he wish, Saemund wants nothing more than to make a name for himself so that he can stand on his own rather than in his elder's shadows. With his storied grandfather Farbjorn drilling him in his weaponscraft and weaponsmithing both since he was a small lad, Saemund is as well prepared for danger as they come. | |
| However, his miserliness and aggressiveness makes him few friends and puts him in positions where friends would be a good thing to have respectively. | |

| As the quest of the Nine Arrows progressed, Saemund proved to be its most dominant member, though he never attempted to assume any sort of leadership role. Rather, he simply did what he thought necessary at the time, and the other Arrows generally followed his lead whether they really wanted to or not. | |
| Saemund never really outgrew his flaws, but his flintiness never slackened, and his cold, implacable exterior became ever more intimidating. Word of his deeds spread, but even complete strangers who knew nothing of him recognized in him a warrior not to be trifled with. | |
| Saemund achieved his deepest held desire of getting out of his illustrious families shadow and making a legend of his own. He retired to his home of Caer Ungorhaus and worked the forge with his grandsire Farbjorn, eventually studying the art of Runecrafting. | |
