PERSONALITY & MOTIVATION
Stephan is a simple soul, but for all of his faults he does have a sincere and strong desire to do the right thing. He may not be the brightest person around, and may not be entirely dependable, but he means well and is certainly no coward, facing lethal danger on many occasions without flinching from harms way.

He is determined to continue being a superhero, but he is conflicted about how to balance his life as Stephan Norsworthy, actor and jetsetter, against his secret identity as Gravitic and suffers for it in both identities.
CATCH PHRASE(S)
"I look forward to all the crime fighting and villain smiting we are sure to do!"
"Why, from my super humanity, of course!" -- when asked by a reporter where his superhuman powers come from.
POWERS & SPECIAL EFFECTS
Gravitic is a powerful Gravity manipulator, though not as powerful or as dangerous as his supposed sister Gravitar. He is able to do a number of things by raising or lowering gravity and particularly excels at employing control tactics, pinning down and slowing multiple opponents simultaneously. In this regard he worked particularly well with both Hype and Rook on various occasions as their abilities proved to be very synergistic.

Gravitic can also cause quite a bit of damage to others, but his powers tend to be very destructive as few things can resist the kinds of G-Forces he can exert upon them and thus he is loathe to use such powers casually.

As long as Gravitic remains conscious he is able to manipulate gravity around himself to divert and redirect most matter and energy, affording himself a high level of protection from damage, and is able to anchor himself in space so that it is extremely difficult to knock him back by any means.

He also has a number of movement capabilities based upon manipulating his personal gravity, but none of them are as precise or as easy to use as powered flight. His typical means of movement is to launch himself 1 kilometer straight up and then glide down at an angle, repeating as necessary. However he can also equilize his gravity to the point that he is able to effectively walk on air via which he has full control over his movement, but it isn't a very speedy way to travel.

ORIGIN
Born to a wealthy socialite, sired by a globe trotting playboy heir of the Norsworthy fortune, Stephan Norsworthy never had anything even vaguely resembling a normal life. His world was one of wealth, privilege, access, and the best of all worldly things. Publically he was the very model of an irresponsible trust fund child, attending the best of prep schools but only when convenient, summering in exotic and expensive locales, rubbing elbows only with other similarly vapid and advantaged people, and otherwise contributing absolutely nothing to anyone elses existance.

However privately Stephan always nursed a feeling that he should be doing something useful with his life, perhaps engendered in him by his nanny, an elderly Brittish dame named Evelyn Frye that had survived the WW2 bombings of London as a child and had quite an interesting life of her own before becoming a high priced tender of wealthy people's children in her later years. This urge to rise above his decadent lifestyle and social set and give back to the world led Stephan to a fascination with super heroes, who had the courage and ability to make the world a better place and he secretly began to keep track of and research their doings.

He kept his hobby a closely guarded secret from everyone, as it would only make him the object of ridicule among his so-called friends if it were discovered. After finishing up college with a meaningless degree from a prestigious university Stephan managed to leverage some connections, good looks, and discretionary funds into a role in a mid-budget superhero movie called the Patriot Missile. Originally he was only going to play a supporting role, but he managed to front enough money, most of it a gift from his distant mother, into the lead.

The Patriot Missle was a superhero with the standard powers of flight, super strength, and invulnerablity and all in all there was nothing really remarkable of interesting about the script. But Stephan's hammy over the top acting, in the vein of a 1940's action adventure serial, had the unintended effect of lending a certain spoofy comedy aspect to the film and it unexpectedly caught on with filmgoers and was quite successful in relative terms compared to what it cost to make.

Of course Stephan was serious, but fortunately he was too dim to really understand that everyone else thought he was being deliberately funny. Regardless the box office take was enough to ensure a series of Patriot Missile sequels over the next 6 years, and some similar roles in other movies and TV shows as Stephan became typecasted. For a while the success was enough to take Stephan's mind off of the little voice in his head that told him he should be making something out of himself, but the difficult shooting schedules and long hours also put a lot of stress on him.

He was often fatigued and would go without enoug sleep for days at a time on occassion. One night driving to one of his homes near Aspen from a film shoot he fell asleep at the wheel and drove his car off the side of the mountain. He was awakened by the sound of the car hitting the guard rail and immediately went into terrified shock as he plummeted to his death. The extreme stress of the situation activated his latent mutant powers of Gravity Manipulation and he instinctively halted his fall mere inches from the ground.

Extricating himself from that situation without alerting anyone to his near death experience, he began trying to spelunk the nature and limits of his strange new abilities over the course of the next several months. Finally clearing himself from various contractual obligations he returned to his favorite home in the Grosse Pointe area near Millennium City, he settled in to master his powers in earnest and carefully managed to purchase a fighting suit that had previously been worn by another hero that had fallen in the line of duty, which he used as the basis of a costume for himself.

Soon a new hero entered the supers scene of Millennium City known as Gravitic, The Grandmaster of Graviolis! As Gravitic Stephan met and frequently partnered with several other heroes in the area that eventually coallesced into the supergroup known as the Millennial Men. Working with various of these supers he had many adventures and helped prevent many supercriminals from their dastardly ends.

Unfortunately he took quite a number of beatings in the processes as well as neglected his public life, and it became increasingly difficult to maintain his dual existance. And then one evening on the way home, immediately after he had revealed his secret id to his teammate Rook, he was attacked en route by a person calling themselves Massive who had very similar powers and claimed to be Gravitic's half brother. Further, he claimed that the world reknowned supervillainess known as Gravitar was both of their's half sister! Apparantly Stephan's dad got around quite a bit in his day. Massive demanded that Gravitic go with him at Gravitar's request and together the three siblings would surely be unstoppable.

Gravitic used his mastery of Gravitic forces to contest his supposed brother's hold and refuted him, telling him that he would never join with either him or Gravitar to wreak evil. Massive bade him to reconsider and departed, with the unspoken promise of returning again. Rook and Gravitic parted company and Gravitic disappeared soon thereafter, with Rook apparantly the last person to see him alive.
