Ability Sets

Dwarf

Strength: d6
Durability: d6
Stamina: d6
Senses: d4
Warding: d6
Willpower: d6

Limit: Dwarf: You are a member of the Dwarf race. Though you are able to pass as a short and stocky human being, both your stature and keeping your supernatural nature hidden can be a problem. Gain one (1) Plot Point when this becomes a Complication for you.

Limit: Dwarfvision: This Ability Set's Senses trait only provides the ability to see basic supernatural auras and to extend vision range into the infrared, it does not enhance your natural senses.

Limit: Supernatural Aura: You have a supernatural aura that is detectable by those with special senses. Gain one (1) Plot Point when this becomes a Complication for you.

Brawler

Ranged: d4
Melee: d8
Unarmed: d6

SFX: Crowbar Specialist: You are specialized in the use of Crowbars; you may step up and double Melee when using such a weapon and must step down Melee when using any other sort of weapon.

Limit: Gear: This Ability Set's Melee or Ranged traits can be shut down if you are disarmed or do not have an appropriate weapon available to you; gain one (1) Plot Point when this becomes a Complication for you. You may recover Melee or Ranged when it is appropriate to the narrative; this may require you to activate an opportunity or take an action against the doom pool at the GM's discretion.

Vocations

Standard Exploits

  • Exploit: Augment Dice Pool Result: for a dice pool result that inludes your Vocation trait die, you may either keep an extra die for your total or step up the effect die.
  • Exploit: Create a Asset: a Asset is a temporary d6 trait that represents a professional contact, a piece of equipment, or some kind of useful knowledge related to your Vocation. Unless removed, the Asset lasts until the end of the next scene, which means you can use it more than once. Write down [Name of the Asset]: d6; you may add it as an additional die whenever the Asset is relevant to an action or reaction. How long it may take to create a particular Asset, and whether it can be done as part of an Action Scene or must be done in a Transition Scene is left to common sense and GM's discretion.
  • Exploit: Affect Complications: if there is a Complication that your Vocation pertains to, you can step it down or remove it from play by describing how your expertise allows you to overcome the Complication. If the Complication is a d6 or less eliminate it, if it is d8 or higher step it down. Alternately, if you can justify how your Vocation applies, you may create a d6 Complication and put it into play, or step up an existing Complication.

Driver [  ][  ]

The Driver Vocation allows the following special Exploits:

  • Exploit: With access and opportunity, during a Transition Scene you may acquire a vehicle suitable to your current needs. You gain the Asset 'Vehicle: d8'; you can give this Asset to someone else to use.
  • Exploit: If you are driving, you may step up and double Finesse for purposes of handling a vehicle on an action or reaction roll.
  • Exploit: If you are driving you may avoid wrecking, losing control, or having your vehicle fail due to mechanical issues in a given Scene.
  • Signature Exploit: Over the last 100+ years you've driven nearly every inch of the American Highway System, state roads, surface streets, and back trails; invoke to know exactly where you are if in the US and a paved road is visible to you.

Griz used to be watched by Section M, but at some point back in the mid 80's he performed some service for the Bureau that no one will talk about (especially Griz), but whatever it was it bought him a get out of jail free card for past transgressions and a fair amount of slack on the leash. Section M no longer keeps him on their watch lists; so long as Griz can avoid screwing up he's free to go about his business.

Griz is no idealist or goodie two shoes do-gooder, but he cannot abide some kinds of supernatural evils and will saddle up his hawg and go on the war path to fight against demon summoners, vampires, infernalists, trollkind, or anyone who he has declared a grudge against. He's not really a professional Hunter and doesn't bother with such things, but if he can help some of his few friends take down a big bounty score he'll claim a share of the proceeds just to put gas in his tank, ammo in his guns, and beer in his belly.
