APPEARANCE & SHTICK
APPEARANCE

PERSONALITY & MOTIVATION
Cynthia is basically a product of her environment; she is shallow, smug, elitist, and utterly confident in her own right to privelege. However her experience with her TV appearance and the massively negative reception of her behavior has been a wake up call for her, and she is trying to amend her behavior. However, she has a long way to go on that particular task, and still comes off in a very uncomplimentary fashion to most people.

Cynthia's most immediately annoying habit however is that she constantly talks in an almost stream of consciousness way, jumping from one topic to another without seeming rhyme or reason. Her conversation is very shallow and even inane, she hardly ever lets anyone get a word in edgewise, and she has no awareness that people she's talking to might not care to hear what she has to say.
CATCH PHRASE(S)
"...and then she was like 'No Way!' and I was like "Way!', and she was like "nuh uh!" and I was like 'fer sure'! Oh, that reminds me, have you been to Sea World lately? The new dolphin show is like so way cool! After the show you can go swim with the dolphins for just a few hundred bucks and they are like so amazing and spiritual and stuff. You should totally do that sometime, its like totally awesome! Oh my gawd I can't believe that girl over there is actually wearing that! Doesn't she like own a mirror or something? Anyway so then a couple days later this totally hot guy called me and was all like 'hey remember me' and I was like...."
POWERS & SPECIAL EFFECTS
Chatterbox has powerful sonic projection abilities based upon talking or otherwise vocalizing and focusing the resulting sound waves. She has a number of useful tricks in this regard, but unfortunately all of them have the side effect of effectively deafening everyone around her, including allies. This also provides targets with some protection against her own powers, since if they are deaf some of her abilities that require the target to be able to hear can't function. However, it should be noted that many of her projection powers have a range that exceeds the area of affect of her deafening emissions.

In addition to deafening people, the sound she generates also works as a very effective form of protection as the sonic waves disrupt energy and force around her person. Chatterbox is also highly resistant to sonic damage.

Chatterbox has yet to develop any real tactics; she basically just gets into the middle of things and starts running her mouth, attacking whoever seems like the current biggest threat.

ORIGIN
Have you ever seen that show "Daddy's Princess", where they showcase a few days of the life of an overpriveleged SoCal daughter whose parents lavish absurd amounts of money upon spoling them as they plan a "coming of age" party? Cynthia was episode #3.

Though her parents divorced when she was only three, her mother died in a skiing accident in the Alps when Cynthia was nine and she went to live with her father Aaron in San Diego. Aaron is a wealthy investor and venture capitalist, believed to be one of the richest men in the city of San Diego (which is largely speculative as he has a team of accountants that keep his money squirreled away pretty cleverly), and Cynthia never wanted for anything. Daddy had no clue how to raise a child, much less a daughter, so a string of nannys were hired to take on that responsibility, and expensive gifts flowed freely for the precocious young girl in lieu of his time. Cynthia was a difficult child that was prone to screaming temper tantrums and fits when she didn't get her way and needed a firm hand, but any nanny that tried to impose boundaries was summarily dismissed at Cynthia's smallest complaint. Some just outright quit, too, unable to tolerate the difficult girl's motormouth and piercing, deafening screams.

Cynthia's screams were so bad she could even shatter glass, and burst one nanny's eardrums with a particularly bad fit when she was 13. Experimenting on her own, she discovered that she could do more than that as well, but resolved to keep it a secret so that she wouldn't "be a freak".

Perhaps unsurprisingly Cynthia grew up to be a spoiled little monster, becoming a key figure in the tweeny high society set. She likely would have progressed into yet another shallow, self absorbed, wealthy but useless person, but she was contacted by the producers of "Daddy's Princess" and agreed to be on the show (which at that time was still in pre-production and none of the episodes had yet to be aired). She was her normal self for three days as she was tailed by a camera crew, and thought the whole thing was a grand endeavor. However when the show finally aired, she watched episodes 1 and 2 with some friends and started to become...horrified.

Rather than highlighting the glamour and excellence of her social set as the producers had sold it to her, it instead showcased the venal, petty, snobbery of overpriveleged brats for maximum contempt value. Less privileged women and young girls across the country watched the show and there was an enormous backlash against the featured divas. Newspaper articles were written about it, and it fueled a round of cutting jokes on late night and skit comedy shows. It became clear that America did not approve of the girls featured in "Daddy's Princess".

Cynthia immediately put a team of lawyers on trying to block her episode from airing, but the contract proved to be to well structured for even Daddy's top lawyers to crack and the show aired as scheduled the next week. Cynthia proved to be far worse than either of the two girls previously showcased; compared to her they were purely small time divas. If people had been incensed by the first two episodes, they were absolutely agitated by Cynthia's, and she became the target of personally directed (rather than the previous general) jokes, talk show commentary, newspaper editorials, and even people on the street. A new character was even debuted on the nations #1 skit comedy show that was an obvious impersonation of her.

She was a laughingstock. Even her so called friends began to snub her. But to make things worse, seeing herself from the outside in was a painful experience for Cynthia, as she began to realize how out of control she really was and to become aware of how others perceive her. She had a long way to go, but she began attempting to curb her own behavior and developed an urge to prove that despite her many critics opinions to the contrary she could be a contributing member of society.

She decided to use the sound based powers she had long hidden to become a superhero and give back to society by protecting it from powered villainy. Her long term goal is to develop a name for herself as a hero in her secret id, and then "come out" publically, finally putting an end to the perception of her as a useless spolied brat. Unfortunately she didn't really have a clue on how to go about becoming a hero, and so dithered for a few months. She couldn't even settle on a cool superhero name. But then the open call for the new team called Aegis went out and wearing a costume she had ordered covertly she showed up for it.

Unfortunately she didn't even make the first cut and was sent home dejected; no one had ever really denied her anything before. But a few weeks later she was reached via the contact number she had given; Aegis needed her after all! She is currently an "Auxillary" member, whatever that means, but she's determined to make this work! The Aegis PR people even picked a name for her: Chatterbox! It's not totally awesome, but its alright, and she still couldn't think of anything, so there you go.
